History
KIUTA (1998) Ltd was established in December, 1998 under the companies ordinance cap 212 of the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania for the purpose of buying a parastatal organization called National Printing Company Ltd (NPC) through a Management/ Employee Buy Out (MEBO) scheme. NPC was established under the same law in 1967 and until privatization, it remained the biggest printing house in Tanzania.
The MEBO offer through KIUTA (1998) Ltd won the competitive bid and signed the sale agreement on 12th February 2002. Operations of the divested company were handed over on 13th February 2002.
